June Delegate Newsletter — Workers Confluence Fund updates

The LIFT (Labor Innovations for the 21st Century) Fund held their annual national grantee meeting in Minneapolis. Workers, organizers, and allies met at the Lofton Hotel and heard from powerful local leaders, including Representative Ilhan Omar and Unite Here 17 members who work at the hotel and who organized at First Avenue. 

Workers Confluence hosted a set of convenings from May 27 - 30 called LIFT Learning Days. Over 150 organizers, leaders and allies from unions, worker centers and other worker power building organizations from across the country gathered to skillshare and strategize. Workers Confluence and MRLF were able to showcase how “Minneapolis is a Union Town”. 

The conference also included field visits to CTUL, George Floyd Square and the United Labor Center. Folks learned about and reflected on intersecting movements for worker and community justice.
