9:30 p.m., Linden Hills Neighborhood
AFL-CIO endorsed Betsy Hodges (left), the winning Minneapolis City Council candidate in Ward 13, talks with supporters Dan McGrath (center) and Jeannette Rebar (right), political director for SEIU Local 26. Hodges outpolled Lisa McDonald, former Ward 10 City Council Member, by 64 percent to 36 percent.

Supporters of Peter McLaughlin, the AFL-CIO endorsed candidate for Mayor of Minneapolis, remained some time after McLaughlin's concession speech and talked quietly in small groups. Incumbent Mayor R.T. Rybak outpolled McLaughlin 61 percent to 37 percent: a magin of 17,391 votes. |

Ralph Remington (right), AFL-CIO endorsed candidate for Ward 10 City Council, and campaign manager Lisa Miller (right) celebrated victory until past midnight with supporters. Remington beat Scott Persons 55 percent to 45 percent.

Remington (right) gets a high five from Ward 9 Council Member Gary Schiff, who dropped by the Remington celebration to offer congratulations. Schiff, also AFL-CIO endorsed, won reelection over Dave Bicking by 59 percent to 31 percent.
