Emergency Food Program
The Labor Community Services Food Shelf has Changed
If you're a union member in need of emergency food assistance, please contact Community Services at 612-379-8133.
Labor Community Services no longer operates a traditional food shelf. union members seeking emergency food assistance from Labor Community Services now receive a grocery store gift card. This allows our increasingly diverse membership to choose the food their families like, at their convenience.
In the past two months, more than 40 members have contacted and used the Labor Community Services Food Program for direct assistance and referrals. Some members are between jobs or on the bench and can't make ends meet, others have medical problems that have sidelined them for months, and all have mounting bills and financial obligations. We need to have the necessary resources to continue helping our brothers and sisters.
Because we are no longer accepting canned goods and other foods, please make a monetary donation to the Labor Community Services Food Program to sustain emergency food assistance for union members in need.
Please make checks payable to: "Labor Community Services." Please write
"food program" on the memo line. Mail checks to: Labor Community Services, 312 Central Ave., Suite 542, Minneapolis, MN 55414.
Thank you for your generosity.
