September 11: Working Partnerships’ annual golf event will benefit union members in need

From the Minneapolis Labor Review, July 28, 2017

MINNEAPOLIS — Register by Thursday, August 31 for the fifth annual golf tournament fundraiser benefiting Working Partnerships. The golf tournament is set for Monday, September 11 at Hillcrest Golf Club, 2200 Larpenteur Ave. E., Saint Paul. Shotgun start is at 9:00 a.m.

Working Partnerships is a 501(c)3  nonprofit organization created by the Minneapolis Regional Labor Federation to help union members and their families during seasonal unemployment, layoffs, lockouts, and other emergencies.

The program helps union members avoid a utility shut-off, eviction, or foreclosure and provides temporary food assistance.

The golf tournament is Working Partnerships’ biggest fundraiser, even more important this year because of cuts in United Way funding.

To support the event, sign up as a sponsor or golfer or donate prizes for the raffle or silent auction.

All donations to Working Partnerships for the tournament are tax deductible.
For more information, call Ashley Novak at 612-379-8130 ext. 112 or e-mail ashley@workingpartnerships.org.

For golfers, the $145 per person entry fee includes 18 holes of golf, cart, light breakfast and catered lunch, sleeve of golf balls, goody bag, practice range, and door prizes.

An entry form may be downloaded here (429KB download).

Sponsors to date for this year’s golf event include: Teamsters Local 120 (Tournament Sponsor); Building Trades Credit Union (Major Donor), Minnesota Nurses Association (Founding Sponsor).
