SAINT PAUL — The East Side Freedom Library will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a two-day “Love and Solidarity” symposium June 7-8.
Located at 1105 Greenbrier Street in an old Carnegie Library building, the nonprofit ESFL offers an extensive research collections but also features a schedule of classes, speakers, and special events centered on strengthening grassroots movements to advance social justice and workers rights.
Plans for the 10th anniversary event include:
• Opening remarks and a free reception Friday, June 7 from 6:30-9:00 p.m. at ESFL.
• A free, day-long free symposium featuring several workshops Saturday, June 8, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at ESFL.
• A fundraising banquet and awards presentation Saturday, June 8 beginning at 5:15 p.m. at Metro State University’s New Main Great Hall. The keynote speaker will be labor organizer Ellen David Friedman, board chair of Labor Notes. Tickets are $150 per person or $950 for a table of eight.
